Striking vintage American studio art glass wine goblet by noted glass artist Steven Maslach, signed and dated 1978.
This hand-blown goblet stands approximately 9" tall and features a long clear stem and circular foot supporting a richly colored bowl in cobalt and periwinkle blue with lavender/purple at the base. Flowing layered bands and earthy gray-brown inclusions create a dramatic abstract landscape-like effect that changes as the glass is viewed from different angles.
Signed "Maslach '78" on the underside of the foot.
Steven Maslach is an important figure in the American studio glass movement, with examples of his work represented in major museum collections including the Corning Museum of Glass and Museum of Arts and Design.
Approximate height: 9"
A beautiful early signed example of Maslach's studio glass and an excellent piece for a collection of American art glass, studio glass or 1970s modern design.
