Here's an extraordinary thing… In 1969 the actor Alan
Rickman was no more than a keen amateur actor, studying at the Royal
College of Art. This programme, produced for just three performances in March
1969 at the Stanhope Theatre in London NW1 names him in the cast of “The Relapse”,
playing Lord Foppington, Sir Novelty Fashion. Rickman apparently also designed
the programme and his future wife Rima Horton played one of his pages! Although
he is referred to in the programme only by his surname, also included is a
newsletter from the Court Drama Group who produced the play. This names both
Alan and Rima. The large-format 21cm by 25.5cm programme has eight
pages and is in fair condition, with a few light marks and creases. The folded
newsletter is double-sided and is only shown in part in my images. Surely one
of the hardest Alan Rickman programmes to find?
