Programme for the premiere production of Noel Coward's play “The Young Idea” which opened its pre-London Tour in Bristol on 25 September 1922, where it played for just a week. Noel Coward himself played Sholto. The play would eventually run for just 60 performances at the Savoy Theatre, where it opened on 1 February 1923. This rare find is from that first week of performances in Bristol. Measuring 6.25” by 9.75” it has eight pages and is in poor condition with age toning and chipping of the margins.
Also in the
cast were Herbert Marshall, Ann Trevor, Kate Cutler, Muriel Pope, Martin Lewis,
Phyllis Black, Ronald Ward, Naomi Jacob, Clive Currie, Patricia Bryan, Ambrose Manning,
Walter Thompson, and Irene Rathbone.
