Programme from
the historic opera house, the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Italy, produced in
World War Two during the 1944 to 1945 season under the direction of the British
military authorities in the Italian city. The c.5.5” by 8” the 12-page programme
has synopses of Puccini’s “La Boheme” in English and Italian as well as photographs
of the theatre interior and of the stars Beniamino Gigli and Pina Esca who
played Rodolpho and Mimi. Other cast
members are listed below. In fair condition with just a little age toning and
some marks to the covers.
