MSA TC-2002 "CQB Gun-Fighter" Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH / MICH) size Large used by U.S. Military Special Operations Forces.
The MSA Gallet TC 2002 (also known as the MICH 2002 or Gunfighter cut) is a ballistic composite combat helmet originally designed for special operations forces. It is a variant of the Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH) / Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) family, produced after MSA Safety acquired CGF Gallet in 2002.
The "Mid-Cut" Profile: The defining feature of the TC 2002 is its half-ear cut (often called the Gunfighter cut). It removes a portion of the ear protection found on the full-coverage TC 2000, but provides more coverage than the high-cut TC 2001.
Communication Compatibility: The raised ear profile explicitly accommodates larger, dual-comm tactical headsets (such as Peltor ComTacs or MSA Sordins) without pushing the helmet up or pinching the user's head.
Ballistic Composition: Built from lightweight, layered Kevlar aramid materials offering fragmentation and Level IIIA ballistic protection against handgun rounds.Suspension System: Replaced the older, rigid sweatband suspensions of the PASGT era with a flexible 7-pad modular foam system paired with a 4-point chinstrap for impact absorption and customizable fit
Design Profile: Mid-Cut (often referred to as the "Gun-Fighter" cut). It sits perfectly between the full-coverage TC-2000 and the high-cut TC-2001 to strike a balance between ballistic coverage and seamless compatibility with large tactical headsets.
Primary Users: Extensively utilized by elite units including the Army Green Berets, Delta Force, and Air Force Special Operations.
