HMS NARVIK
HMS Narvik was built at Barrow
and launched on 29 July 1945 as LST3044. She was renamed HMS Narvik in 1947 and
took on a dual role as a submarine depot ship and a minesweeper depot ship.
She
was flagship of the British Task Force for the Atomic Bomb tests in the Monte
Bello Islands in May 1956.
In
1960 she became the depot ship of the 108th Minesweeping Squadron in Malta
She
was sold for breaking in 1965
