Here is the last of 15 parfleshe containers we have owned~ this one is Crow Indian made~it has the very typical square, rectangular and triangular designs used by the Crow ~ it has a single tie in the middle to close the case~the bright paints have faded some, but still show very well~ This container has been professionally shaped and filled a white styrofoam form to keep the hide in its original shape~ The Styrofoam takes the place of whatever the Crow Indian woman stored inside of it~ I think this case is circa 1880 to 1900~it is 24 inches long by 12 inches wide~ A fine , old Crow Indian artifact.
