For sale is a matched stereo pair of Gefell RFT MV102/MK102 with Brüel & Kjaer 2801

power supplies ready for studio use (renewed diaphragms, calibrated and tested).

These omni-pattern microphones were originally designed for measurement purposes by “VEB Mikrofontechnik Gefell”

under the brand RFT around 1970 in East Germany. But sound engineers who turned them into studio mics (like me)

love them for their very linear frequency range, best impulse-behaviour and an absolutly true uncoloured sound,

which gives you beautiful sounding results on all kinds of acoustic instruments or as room mics. They have a very

low noise level and can handle SPL up to 138 dB, great to record even the most dynamic instruments.

The label "MKD"  was used by Mikrofontechnik Gefell to mark a "Mess-Kondensator-Dose" (which stands for a

Measurement Condenser Microphone).

I own these microphones and power supplies for about 30 years. The diaphragms were renewed, tested and calibrated

at the original factory (Microtech Gefell) in 2011. The mics have a flat frequency response up to 10k with -2dB at 20k

(see calibration charts). Polarization voltage is 200V. The set was just tested in the studio on an SSL Duality  console.

All working perfect.

The set is ready to use and includes the following:

2x Gefell RFT MV102 (#2511 / #2563) with capsule MK102 (#10829 / #10831)

2x Brüel & Kjaer 2801 Power Supply with power cords

2x Microphone cable for MV102 (5 meters each)

2x Adapter cable for B&K 2801 microphone input (plus 2x female B&K connector just used to protect the male connector for the B&K 2801 when the cable is stored)

2x Neutrik XLR adapter cable for B&K 2801 output (wired for 200 Ohm symmetrical output)

1x Original manual for B&K 2801 from 1962

1x Original manual for Gefell RFT MV102/MK102 from 1976

1x Calibration charts for both microphones measured with new diaphragm from 2011

1x Standard case

2x Universal microphone clamps (not pictured)

This is a very unique stereo set you will not find easily anywhere else!

Brief history of Neumann and Microtech Gefell

The company was founded 1928 in Berlin by Georg Neumann to supply microphones to the German national broadcasting organization.
In 1943, it moved from Berlin to the village Gefell where work could continue, uninterrupted by Allied bombing. The company was known
throughout the world for precision condenser microphones for studio and measurement applications, phonograph record cutting lathes
and other studio equipment. After the war, most functions of the Neumann company moved back to West Berlin, but a few key people
stayed in Gefell, and that section of the company remained there through forty years of East German government. The measurement
microphones made in Gefell were adopted throughout eastern Europe and the USSR. Since the Berlin wall came down, the products
of the Gefell factory are once again available in the world market.
