Offered is an unusual and apparently scarce limited edition Chesapeake and Ohio Railway H-8 Allegheny 2-6-6-6 Locomotive and Tender display Sculpture, Signed C.L.Miller and individually numbered 65/250. This locomotive began service starting in 1941. I purchased this at an estate sale in Jacksonville, Fla, around 30 years ago. The estate was of a retired executive who worked at C&O and CSX railways. A relative didn't know a lot of detail but said the owner had owned the piece for a long time. He thought it was a gift or award from the owners career. It weighs over 2 pounds. The base appears to be black granite and the felt bottom has never been removed. This is a rare and valuable collectible depicting a highly celebrated steam locomotive.
This is not an operating model train. It is a Limited-Edition piece of art that is signed and numbered by the sculptor. Approximately 10 inches long. This piece displays very nicely and has substantial weight for it's size. Please look at the photos carefully to see the construction details and overall condition. I have never polished the item to protect any patina.
