Vintage Seiko automatic wristwatch featuring a deep blue dial, day/date display, stainless steel case, and Seiko stainless steel bracelet. The watch is powered by Seiko’s 17 jewel 6309 automatic movement. Dial is marked “JAPAN 6309 814LR,” and the caseback is marked 6309-8080. Serial number 894324 dates the watch to approximately September 1978.

The watch retains a signed Seiko bracelet with 153 marked end links and a signed Seiko folding clasp. The blue dial features applied silver tone hour markers and hands, day/date window at 3 o’clock, and the Suwa factory symbol above 6 o’clock.

The watch is currently running and the automatic movement responds to motion. It was acquired from an estate and its service history is unknown, so it is being sold as a running vintage watch that should be serviced before relying upon it for regular wear. Accuracy and power reserve have not been tested or guaranteed.

Cosmetically, the watch shows substantial honest wear consistent with its age. The crystal has extensive scratching, including heavier scratches across the upper portion of the dial. The case and bracelet have scratches, scuffs, grime, discoloration and other signs of prolonged use. There is visible buildup and oxidation around portions of the case and crystal. No attempt has been made to polish or restore the watch.

A well worn but appealing late 1970s Japanese Seiko automatic retaining its blue dial, 6309 movement, day/date complication, signed bracelet and strong period character. Please review all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
