Authentic vintage Moroccan Zemmour Berber kilim / rug, handwoven in wool and dating approximately from the 1970s.

Beautiful traditional textile originating from the Zemmour region of Morocco, featuring a rich deep red / magenta ground decorated with an exceptionally dense arrangement of traditional geometric tribal motifs in yellow, orange, cream and dark tones.

The textile displays several vertical decorative registers filled with diamonds, zigzags, checkerboard patterns and small abstract geometric symbols.

Particularly interesting is its construction combining different woven textures and decorative sections, including an internal row of hand-knotted fringes separating the main field from the lower geometric panel.

Entirely handmade, with the irregularities and variations characteristic of traditional Berber weaving.
