An unusual antique three-pronged bread serving fork manufactured by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), Germany.

The fork features an elaborate raised design with floral, scroll and animal decoration, together with an ornate shaped handle. Marked “WMF” and “I/O” to the reverse. The I/O mark denotes WMF’s standard silver-plated finish rather than solid silver.

Believed to date from approximately 1895–1910. Supplied with the fitted presentation case shown in the photographs.

In antique condition with tarnishing, surface marks and areas of plating wear consistent with its age and previous use. The case also displays age-related wear. It has deliberately not been heavily polished, leaving the buyer to clean it according to preference.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.

A particularly attractive and uncommon piece of antique German tableware, suitable for use, display or addition to a WMF collection.
