This malachite rhinoceros is from the estate of a long time collector. This piece is in very good vintage condition, no chips or scratches. Obtained in Zaire in the 70’s, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This piece has beautiful bands of green with some gold colored inclusions on the left side of the figurine. These inclusions or metallic sheen commonly appear and are known as chalcopyrite, a brassy copper sulfide which adds to the uniqueness of this piece. Measures 3 1/4” long x 1 1/2” tall x 1” wide, weighs 6oz - 150 grams
