The Raymond Rush Collection a well known Historian.

In the late 17th century, English
insurance companies maintained private fire brigades that were paid to respond to fires at properties they insured. These properties would have been identified by these lead badges (fire marks) bearing an insurance company's emblem. The number would general represent the policy number. The Hand in Hand Fire Office of London, England would have issued these circa 1832.

This is an outstanding piece for collectors of insurance or firefighters memorabilia or just anyone interested in a unique piece of history. Measures 7.625" (19.37 cm) across x 8.125" (20.64 cm) tall.
