On offer are two white handle Gillette slim twist TTO safety razors dating from the 1960s - 1970s. They measure about 11cms (4¼") long. They come with one plastic Slim Twist razor case, but this is broken. An interesting fact is that this particular model razor featured in the Beatles film "A Hard Days Night" where it pictured George Harrison using one. Please look carefully at the pictures as they form part of the item description.

The razors were made in England, and this is stamped on the underside of the base plates, along with the Gillette logo. The butterfly doors open and close smoothly, and the mechanisms would hold a blade firmly in place. There are no blades supplied with the razors. As far as I can tell everything on these is working fine, but I'm not an expert on vintage razors. They are therefore being sold for parts, restoration, or display purposes.

The razors show some signs of wear and tear commensurate with age and use. There is some surface wear, brown handle staining, and possibly light corrosion - see pictures. I'm sure they would also benefit from a good clean up, but I have left that job for the new owner.

As is common with these white-handled models there is some visible vertical hairline cracking running down the plastic ribbed handles. The handles do still feel secure.

The plastic razor case is broken as the pictures show. The catch has snapped off, and the hinge loops have gone too. Hopefully someone will still find a use for it.

Despite any cosmetic faults these are a nice examples of a vintage safety razors. They display well, and will make a good additions to any collection.
