Item Description
A very unusual and increasingly difficult to find vintage Dunhill lighter in the distinctive ruler design, complete with its original Dunhill presentation box.
This is the classic Dunhill ruler-style petrol lighter, with the body incorporating both inch and centimetre measurements. The lighter is marked DUNHILL and MADE IN ENGLAND, and has the original lift-arm striking mechanism.
The lighter has been stored for a very long period and appears to have seen little to no use for many years. The silver-plated body has naturally darkened considerably over time, with the surface showing the kind of aged patina and oxidation that can occur after prolonged storage. I have deliberately left this untouched rather than polishing it, as the original aged appearance is part of the character of the piece.
Despite its age and long storage, the lighter is mechanically functioning and produces a strong spark. The mechanism operates correctly.
There is one condition point that I want to make very clear. The old flint had been left in the lighter for a long period and had caused a small crack in the flint holder area. I removed the old flint to prevent any further damage. This does not affect the operation of the striking mechanism, and the lighter is still functioning correctly. The crack is not particularly obvious unless closely examined, but I prefer to mention it rather than hide it.
The original Dunhill box is also included. The box itself has obviously been stored for many years and shows age-related wear, marks and some losses to the finish around the edges, but it remains complete and is a particularly nice part of this set. Finding one of these unusual Dunhill ruler lighters with its original box is considerably more difficult than finding the lighter alone.
Overall, this is an excellent example for a Dunhill collector, particularly because of the unusual ruler form, English manufacture, original presentation box and the untouched aged appearance resulting from long-term storage.
The lighter has been photographed from multiple angles, including the markings, mechanism, ruler measurements, base and original box so that its condition can be seen clearly.

UK Dispatch

International Shipping

INTERNATIONAL RETURNS
International returns are not offered through our standard eBay return settings.
However, where an international return is accepted in accordance with applicable law and eBay policy, it will be handled under the same principles, standards, and conditions as our UK returns. All conditions set out in this Returns Policy apply equally to any accepted international return.
For international returns, buyers are responsible for ensuring that returned goods are clearly declared as returned merchandise and comply with all applicable customs requirements.
Where an international return is accepted, LAVOREN Curated Collections may request the buyer’s written confirmation through eBay Messages that any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, customs clearance charges, handling fees, return shipping costs, and any other charges associated with returning the item and its re-import into the United Kingdom are agreed by the buyer to be their responsibility.
Once this written confirmation has been received through eBay Messages, the return will proceed accordingly and, where permitted by applicable law and eBay policy, such costs may be deducted from the refund.
