**Historical Overview:**
Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible Transitional Column and Splat shelf clock made by Seth Thomas in Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut, dating back to circa 1829–1835.
This historical timepiece features a 30-hour double weight-driven wooden gear movement ("wood works") and these were invented by Eli Terry.
**Condition & Features:**
Please see the newly added macro photos showing the incredible condition of the 200-year-old wooden movement.
**Movement:**
The original wooden gears/works are present. The teeth appear intact, though the clock is currently UNTESTED for timekeeping and sold as-is. Includes two iron weights., the pendulum (which is quite valuable even on its own) and, the door key as well as the winding crank. * *
*Paper Label:**
The interior features an exceptionally well-preserved, 100% complete paper label printed with "Patent Clocks, Invented by Eli Terry, Made and Sold at Plymouth Hollow, Conn., by Seth Thomas." Also, the directions are intact on the sides of the inner lable.
The typography is dark, clear, and highly legible with normal age toning.
**Glass Tablet:**
Stunning, highly vibrant Yet, please note, the glass is BELIEVED TO BE A MODERN RESTORED OR REPRODUCED PART and it depicts what would be a reverse-painted lower glass tablet with a very patriotic allegory of a woman feeding an American Eagle. See picture. Please. Again, the lower reverse-painted patriotic tablet appears to be a very well-done vintage replacement.
**Case:**
Features stenciled columns and a complete, undamaged top eagle splat.
The finish shows a beautiful, authentic 190+ year patina.
Original painted wood dial and open-loop steel hands.
Door key and cranck key for the weights are also present and included.
**Dimensions:** 34.5" tall x 17.5" Width
**Shipping:**
This fragile item will be shipped with care.
The weights will not be inside the clock.
