Very beautiful publication adorned with hundreds of plates, views, portraits, monuments, scenes various lithographed or engraved on wood, some tinted. Numerous illustrations and ornaments engraved have been colored in the manner of illuminations. 
Volume divided into two Sections. Part 1 describes the history of the buildings from 1557, and all of the important clergy and royalty who resided in and influenced the nation.  Part 2 describes the architecture of the buildings, the grounds and plates depicting the sculpture and artwork found throughout.

Hardcover.  Very heavy volume.  Heavy paper stock.  All text is printed in Spanish language.

Condition: Covers appear to be re-bound some time in the past.  Covers exhibit bumped corners and front hinge is split on interior. All pages and plates are intact, however a group of about 6 pages in one section have become separated from the binding.  Very few pages exhibit age foxing spots. All other pages are tightly bound and are free from tears and stray marks.
