Pre-Columbian Style Tairona Carnelian Bead Necklace Metal Frog Columbia
12 inches
Up for sale is a striking, collector-grade composite necklace styled after the historic Pre-Columbian Tairona culture of Colombia.
The gemstone components of this necklace display beautiful, rustic craftsmanship. It features a diverse assortment of manually ground carnelian shapes, including elongated tubular barrels, sharp biconical spacers, and tapered wedge beads. The stones showcase a gorgeous matte surface patina, natural internal fractures, micro-weathering, and distinct banding/concentric "eye" patterns characteristic of natural chalcedony quartz.
The necklace is currently strung in a stable, wearable format. The assembly incorporates two highly detailed cast metal frog amulets alongside decorative double-spiral filigree spacer beads that keep the stone components safely separated.
The beads are in great condition with normal wear from the age of these stones.
