A wonderful vintage fishing print by Hy Hintermeister, titled Caught in the Act. This humorous outdoor scene captures a fisherman attempting to climb over a rustic rail fence while still holding his fishing rod, as his companions look on from the stream.
Hintermeister was well known for his colorful narrative illustrations of American outdoor life, hunting, fishing, family scenes, and rural subjects. Caught in the Act is a particularly fun example, combining his detailed sporting artwork with a bit of humor.
The print measures approximately 7" x 10.25" and is in very good vintage condition, with strong color and an attractive, clean appearance. Based on its format and paper, it appears to have likely been removed from a vintage calendar or similar period publication.
