Description
A handsome antique Victorian polished mahogany demi lune table, offering a clever dual-purpose design that allows it to be used as either a slim console table or a larger circular occasional table.
When closed, the table has an elegant D-shaped profile, making it ideal for positioning against a wall in a hallway, living room, or dining room. When additional surface space is required, the two rear legs pivot outwards to support the hinged top, which folds open to create a full circular table.
The mahogany has a lovely warm colour and aged patina, with the slender tapering legs and simple proportions giving the piece an elegant appearance. Its versatile design makes it particularly useful where space is limited, providing a larger occasional table when required while remaining compact for everyday use.

Condition
Good antique condition overall. The table is strong, sturdy, and fully usable. There has been an old repair around the hinge area, as shown in the photographs; this remains secure and the folding mechanism operates as it should.
The top leaf does have a very slight warp. There is some natural lightening and fading to the mahogany from age and use. When the top is opened, there is more noticeable uneven fading between the sections, caused by the different areas having been exposed to light over time. This has been clearly shown in the photographs.
There are also a couple of small woodworm holes to the rear. As a precaution, we spray-treat affected furniture regardless of whether the evidence appears recent or historic. Buyers are welcome to apply their own additional treatment if desired.
There are further minor marks and blemishes consistent with age and use. Overall, the table retains a lovely colour, patina, and plenty of period character. Please refer to all photographs for a detailed assessment of the condition.
