Hello dear customers,
Up for your consideration is a truly rare vintage glass globe lamp shade, most likely of German origin and dating from the early 1960s.
The shade is crafted from molded cased glass, combining a translucent outer layer with an inner layer of milk-white opaline glass. It features a striking futuristic geometric surface design, with a repeating honeycomb pattern transitioning into a radiating sunburst motif toward the center.
The combination of spherical form, geometric texture, and softly diffused opaline glass gives the shade a wonderful Mid-Century Modern / Space Age character, strongly reflecting the experimental lighting design of the 1960s.
A rare and highly decorative shade, particularly attractive when illuminated, as the molded geometric pattern becomes beautifully emphasized by the light.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. There are a few insignificant small chips along the mounting/fitter edge, which are not visible when the shade is installed on a light fixture. Please review all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the item description.
Measures:
Diameter: 7"
Fitter diameter: 4"
Opening / hole diameter: 3.75"
