The Crown was the symbol used for items made in Switzerland for the German market, with the crescent moon (to the left of the crown) signifying silver. The Grouse is / was the Swiss control mark for with 0.800 showing the purity. The initials RF refer to Robert Freres - the case-making firm that evolved into or closely shared roots with Minerva SA in Villeret, Switzerland.
