2 1/4 inch square brass frame with a perpetual calendar. You never have to take this calendar down or throw it away. There are 3 inserts with the 12 months that you flip as the month goes. The grouping of days are back to back and also are inserted to go along with the current month, no matter the year. There is a 'clear' cover which goes over the complete calendar for the current months display. I believe the material is celluloid or plastic that the dates and months are printed on. For it's age it is in very good shape and is very usable!
