The Great Western Railway was enabled by Act of Parliament in 1835 to build a line from London to Bristol and expanded over the years to cover much of western England & Wales from a line between London, The Midlands and Liverpool. It remained in being until the end of 1947, absorbing a few other Companies, within its geographical area, in the 1923 grouping. Oblong labels measure approx. 77mm x 33mm to 38mm, are the last type issued, as a result of wartime economy in the 1940's, code 4237 and those from 11/46 to 12/47 also have the print run & date

All Items are pre-owned Originals, unless otherwise stated, and may also have minor imperfections including edge tears, mounting marks, or creases not mentioned, commensurate with their age/use.

Postage and packing is shown separately for the U.K. and selected Worldwide destinations.

Insured & tracked delivery must be selected for all items over £20

Postage charges should combine when checking out, but if not, please await combined invoice for multiple items, to save on postage. Note that prices also include packing materials, ebay postage fees & international & exchange rate fees where appropriate. Combined postage cannot be given after payment

Payment is due immediately, and must be completed within 3 days.  If you are likely to be away, or want to carry over items up to a maximum of 8 days, please contact me prior to the end of the auction.

All items are normally sent as soon as possible, and within 4 working days, following receipt of cleared funds, packed suitably to withstand the normal rigours of the postal system.

Items are normally sent through the Royal Mail, either signed for, tracked or with a certificate of posting obtained, dependent on the postage band paid for. 

Please contact me first if an item is not received within the stipulated time, so that the matter can be addressed and taken up with the Carrier. Second class postage can often take two weeks, or more, to arrive and is not guaranteed. First class or tracked postage is advised

Overseas buyers are responsible for any Customs matters, tax & import charges - Taxes or charges paid by e bay will be added to the invoice
