A very unusual and curious piece: a Memento Mori human-skull signet-style men’s ring, set with deep red garnet gemstones in the eye sockets. In my opinion, this may have been a doctor’s or anatomist’s ring, as such motifs were often used as reminders of mortality and the fragility of life.

Beautifully crafted with great attention to detail — truly a masterwork.

Marked inside the band with 835rf   silver purity, a star mark, and an additional fleur-de-lis mark. Originating from a private collection in Paris; unfortunately, its exact history is unknown, but it reportedly came from the estate of a world traveler and antiques collector.

Comes with a matching antique presentation box.
