Vintage Film Negative
"Seizure of Mono Island in the Treasury Group, Central Solomons "
from an Official U.S. Navy Photo
~ 1940s ~
Another step toward Tokio: Mono Island seized, October 27, 1943. In this picture, New Zealanders, forming the second wave, come in as fog begins to veil the shores of Mono. The LCP's are run far up on the rocky shore as the men hasten to get supplies debarked.
Large format 5x7 film negative. Created in the late 1940s from an original 1940s Official U.S. Navy Photo. The negative was created to make EKC Real Photo Postcards. I have three sheet-film boxes full of these WWII images taken from original photos. Some of these images are well-known while other images are rare. You'll find some of these images already exist online - but the contrast & detail is usually less impressive than what's captured in these negatives...and, of course, these negatives are not digitized or pixelated ~ making them excellent for reproduction.
Eastman Kodak Safety Film Neg Measures 5 x 7 Inches.
Image is Smaller on 5x7 Negative (as Seen).
In Very Good Vintage Condition: May Have Small Scratches, Imperfections, Old Fingerprints, etc.
Please see photos for further details
