Up for your consideration is a superb antique Victorian sterling silver trinket, pill or snuff box, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1889, and crafted by the renowned silversmiths Atkin Brothers.

Beautifully hand crafted from solid 925 sterling silver, this elegant circular box is distinguished by its striking high-relief spiral fluted design, creating a dynamic vortex effect that reflects the refined taste and craftsmanship of the late Victorian period. The interior retains its original rich 24-karat fire-gilded finish, providing a luxurious contrast to the highly polished silver exterior and helping to preserve the contents.

The hinged lid is fitted with a plain circular cartouche (escutcheon), suitable for a monogram or presentation engraving, while the precision-made hinge remains strong and operates perfectly. The box closes securely with an excellent tight-fitting lid.

The underside is fully hallmarked with the Atkin Brothers maker's mark, the Birmingham Assay Office anchor, the sterling silver lion passant, and the date letter for 1889, confirming its authenticity.

Acquired from an estate sale in Paris, this exceptional Victorian silver box would make an outstanding addition to any collection of English silver, fine vanity accessories, or antique objets d'art.

The box remains in excellent antique condition, with only light surface wear consistent with careful use over more than 135 years. The gilt interior is beautifully preserved, and there are no dents, repairs, or structural issues.
