Choosing the right Diamond

For most people, buying the right diamond is a new experience, but that does not mean it should be overwhelming. To understand the most important characteristics of buying a diamond you can follow the four C's Cut, Colour Clarity and Carat.

Cut

The cut of a diamond determines its brilliance. Cut too shallow and light will pass through the diamond and not bounce back loosing its sparkle. Cut too deep and again light will not bounce back effectively and again lose some sparkle. All of our diamonds are ideal cut for maximum brilliance. They are also laser cut to ensure the best quality facets.

Colour

A diamonds colour grade refers to its lack of colour. A colourless diamond would be graded at D with the grading going up in the alphabet as it gets yellow inclusions to a completely yellow diamond graded at Z. All of our white clear diamonds are graded at D.

Clarity

This refers to how free from imperfections the diamond is. As a diamond forms underground under intense heat the carbon it is made from can sometimes stay as carbon and as such leave tiny to large black specs which are called inclusions. More common are cloudy patches within a diamond and also fracture lines which again are both formed as the diamond is made, this makes finding a flawless diamond almost impossible. As our diamonds are grown in a laboratory we can control all the factors when making the diamond and so all of our diamonds are both internally and externally flawless or graded as FL. 

The high street will generally sell there highest grades as Si-1 which will cost considerably more than ungraded or included diamonds and ours are better than them.

Carat

This is a term that most people are familiar with and simply refers to the measure of a diamonds weight. Most people assume the bigger the better. However as the diamond gets bigger the inclusions are more visible and can ruin the lustre of your diamond as every inclusion stops light from reflecting. 

As our diamonds are made to order we can have a large diamond without having the look tarnished by such issues mined diamonds encounter. As these are mined diamonds they will test differently to a mined diamond.

Therefore armed with this knowledge our diamonds are the best grade for each measure the GIA institute grade mined diamonds and so our jewellery has the look of a celebrity's finest gems without the price tags. We are aiming to provide a high turnover of items at an initial low cost and have no reserve's on our items.
