S.S. Ventura of the Matson Navigation Co. Captain W.R. Meyer, Commanding, which rescued the passengers and crew of the Union Liner Tahiti, which was disabled and sank August 18 in the South Pacific Ocean while enroute from Wellington, New Zealand to San Francisco.
