The Seri Indians By W J McGee. McGee was ethnologist in charge of the Bureau of American Ethnology from 1893 to 1903. In 1895, he explored the Isla del Tiburón, Gulf of California, home of the Seri Indians. Also know as Seris, Ceris , Ceres, Heris, Tiburones.
The Seris are an indigenous group of the Mexican state of Sonora. The Seri Indians are known to have lived in the same area for at least five hundred years. Coronado's men met the Seri.
