DAVIS CRIPPEN ("D" COPY) PEDIGREE
CGC Certification #1446082008
A pedigreed wartime Cat-Man in a CGC Universal (blue label) holder. Please read the condition notes below before bidding — this is an honest low-grade copy with disclosed defects, offered for its pedigree, cover and scarcity.
Davis Crippen ("D" Copy) pedigree
CGC has designated this copy Davis Crippen ("D" Copy) on the label — one of the recognized Golden Age collections noted by CGC. Pedigree designation is permanent, appears on the label, and is what separates this from an ordinary low-grade copy. Collectors building pedigree runs will know exactly what this is.
WWII home-front war bond cover
One of the more desirable patriotic covers in the run. A field of red-and-white stripes, "BUY BONDS" at lower left and "BUY STAMPS" at lower right, with a big yellow star framing head shots of The Catman and The Kitten — Cat-Man grinning under green cat eyes, Kitten beside him. Surrounding star insets spotlight the supporting cast: The Deacon, Blackout, The Ragman, The Hood, and Little Leaders. Signed Chas. M. Quinlan at bottom center.
Additional CGC label notations: The Hood story · Comic Book Impact (CBI) rating of 6

Complete with battle sets for Madagascar, Midway and the Solomon Islands, a swastika-marked plane going down over the islands, and "DAD, You're SUNK!" $1 postpaid, money back guarantee. An outstanding 1943 home-front period piece in its own right.
