Featured is an original 1930 calendar featuring “Solitude,” a photographic image by noted Pacific Northwest photographer Norman Edson (1876–1968). The atmospheric scene depicts a quiet view of Puget Sound, reproduced using the period “Aqua-Color” process.

Edson was a Canadian-born photographer who eventually settled on Vashon Island, Washington. He became known for his distinctive photographic images of the Pacific Northwest and particularly for his documentation of Vashon Island and its surroundings.

This example retains its complete original 1930 calendar pad and was produced for F.B. Wines Co. of Tacoma, Washington. The combination of Edson's imagery, original calendar, and Tacoma advertising makes it an appealing piece of early Pacific Northwest photographic and advertising ephemera.

Condition:
Good vintage condition overall. The calendar shows water staining along the lower portion with some waviness to the heavy paper/card stock. November and December are stuck together from moisture exposure, with small tears affecting November. There is also a small tear along the right border and general edge wear. The photographic image itself remains in very good condition. Please review all photographs carefully for condition details.
