On offer is a nice example of a vintage brass door knocker depicting the Three Wise Monkeys. These come from the old saying "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". I'm not sure how old this is but it's obviously not a modern item. I would think it probably dates to about the 1930s, but that's only guesswork on my part. Please take a good look at the pictures as they form part of the item description.

The actual door knocker measures 5.5cm x 5cm. The fixing plate is 6.5cm long. The item is nicely detailed, and looks well made, but there is no makers name on it that I can see.

The knocker weighs approx. 72gms before any packing materials are added. Stamped on the back of the fixing plate is "England".

There are minor signs of wear and tear commensurate with age and use. It would benefit from a clean up as there are the remnants of old polish on it. There is a little sideways movement at the hinge but it doesn't detract.

Despite any minor cosmetic faults this is still a lovely vintage piece. It would look good on any front door, or display well in a collection.
