offer is a lovely example of a complete Welcom
brand "Film Star" jigsaw puzzle
featuring the American actor Robert
Taylor. The
jigsaw contains 375 card pieces, and measures 17" x 11"
(43cm x 28cm). It is distinguished by its unique star-shaped
outline. It
comes in the original box, but this is a bit creased and rubbed as
the pictures clearly show. Please take a good look at all the
pictures as they form a large part of the item description.
The
colour cardboard jigsaw was produced in England by Williams Ellis &
Co Ltd, London. I believe it dates from the 1930s as the scenes
portrayed on the jigsaw are from that era. The photographs used on
the jigsaw are supplied by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The images also
include the well known artists Barbara Stanwyck, Joan Crawford, Greta
Garbo, E. E. Clive and Henrietta Crossman.
The
puzzle pieces are in lovely bright condition. There are some tiny
minor marks to them, and some light signs of wear commensurate with
age and handling. None of this detracts, but it is best mentioned to
avoid any disappointment.
The
box has some bumping, scuffing, creasing and rubbing as pictured.
There is some grubbiness from storage, and minor damage from
handling. It is complete, and has no repairs to it.
Despite
the minor cosmetic faults mentioned this is a lovely vintage jigsaw.
It displays well, and will make a delightful addition to any
collection.
