Description

A very attractive pair of porcelain soup plates decorated with a Red Dragon pattern, transfer printed in red overglaze enamels and with hand applied red enamel washes to the details.
The pattern is very similar to but not exactly the same as the Meissen Red Dragon Pattern. No makers marks.
The porcelain seems to me to be a hard paste or hybrid hard paste type - but this is almost certainly British rather than European or Oriental in origin.
The edge of the plate is not round, but has six shallow indents  that make a subtle petal outline.
I'd date it to the first half of the nineteenth century.

Condition :  One  has no damage, some wear - one has a chipped edge: see photos.
