A genuine antique Edwardian leather suitcase dating from the early 20th century, featuring its original brown leather exterior, brass lock fittings and a striking red fabric-lined interior.
The front has been professionally or historically stencilled with the initials "F.N.", adding to its period character. Inside are the original leather retaining straps, while the exterior retains its original stitched leather covering and brass hardware.
An excellent decorative piece with plenty of character, ideal for use as period home décor, display, prop hire, storage or as part of a vintage luggage collection.
Condition:
• Honest antique used condition.
• Plenty of marks, scratches, scuffs and age-related wear throughout.
• Leather is worn, dry and heavily aged in places.
• Significant damage to one rear corner with leather loss exposing the underlying material.
• Wear and losses around edges and corners.
• Tarnishing, corrosion and verdigris to the brass hardware, with carry strap missing
• Interior lining shows staining, fading and age-related wear.
• Some leather retaining straps are worn and one has become detached.
• No keys are included and the locks are untested. They do work to secure the lid however.
