Bronze coloured 3.5cm across medal awarded for the Mile Relay at a 1968 New England Intercollegiate Athletics Association Meet which was among medals awarded to David Hemery one of the greatest British Athletes who won Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals at the 1968 and 1972 Olympic Games as well as 2 Gold Medals at the 1966 and 1970 Commonwealth Games.

David Hemery spent much of his early years in the USA and in 1968 was at Boston University, although focussed on Hurdles events he did use Mile Races as part of his stamina training.

As shown the medal comes with the ribbon and to the reverse as well as the original engraving there is a makers mark from Koch who were well known medal manufacturers of the time.

I will include a copy of my Auction paperwork with the Medal to act as provenance.

The medal itself is in excellent condition as per the scans.
