A William Taylor Longmire (1841-1914) watercolour painting called ' Head of Windermere from low wood'. signed and and dated 1874 on rocks (see picture).

He was a British Victorian watercolour painter. Born in Cumbria and this picture depicts the view from low wood bay area towards the northern end of the lake. He was born in the lake district and became deaf at the age of 10 after falling in the lake.
