This Marx toy set features James T West, a secret service agent from The Wild Wild West TV show.. In 1966 Marx created this prototype boxed figure set that was never released (see sample photo) The Captain Maddox head is modeled after Robert Conrad and original use of the Cobra body & accessories were intended for this James T West figure of the Wild, Wild West TV show. There was a licensing issue so never put into production. They had made the molds - at a cost of around $9,000 - and wanted a return on their investment. Remember back then these boxed figure sets were selling for $1-$2 - so would need to sell between 4.5-9k of them just to break even. This reproduction presented for that missing set you would have gotten in your childhood!
