Hello dear customers,
Up for sale is a rare original World War I Imperial Austro-Hungarian military photograph, dated 7 January 1915, preserved in its original decorative presentation mount.
The photograph depicts officers and soldiers of the K.K. Militärbauleitung Göding (Imperial-Royal Military Construction Office), located in Göding (present-day Hodonín, Czech Republic), then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Military Construction Office was responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and supervision of military infrastructure for the Imperial Army. Following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918, these institutions ceased to exist, making surviving photographs of them highly collectible.
An especially fascinating historical detail is the original German daily schedule board mounted beside the entrance of the building. The board lists the complete daily routine of a K.K. Austro-Hungarian military hospital, including wake-up, breakfast, medical rounds, collection of medicines, patients' visiting hours, training of the nursing staff, afternoon inspections, the announcement of daily orders, dinner, night inspection, and lights out. This remarkable detail identifies the building as an active military hospital during World War I, adding exceptional documentary and historical significance to the photograph.
The image shows seven Austro-Hungarian military personnel posed in front of the entrance, with the building clearly identified by the inscription "K.K. Militärbauleitung Göding." The photograph is mounted on its original decorative card and is hand dated 7/I 1915. It remains in very good antique condition with only minor age-related wear to the mount and photograph, as shown.
A wonderful and historically important original WWI photograph, ideal for collectors of Austro-Hungarian militaria, military medicine, military engineering, and early 20th-century photography.
Please review all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the item description.
