Royal Doulton Flambé Cuddling Monkeys HN254 Charles Noke Signed 1930 Rare Figurine
A rare and highly collectible Royal Doulton “Cuddling Monkeys” figurine, model HN254, dating to circa 1930 and finished in a rich flambé glaze.
This charming piece depicts a mother and baby monkey in an affectionate pose, beautifully modelled and finished with a deep oxblood/red flambé glaze transitioning to darker blue tones toward the base. The figure is signed by Charles Noke, Royal Doulton’s renowned art director, confirming his involvement in the design and production.
Measuring approximately 7cm in height, this is a scarce early example and a desirable piece for collectors of Royal Doulton flambé ware and animal figures.
The condition is excellent for its age, with only very minimal wear and no visible chips, cracks or restoration. The glaze is vibrant and well preserved, as shown in the images.
A wonderful and increasingly hard-to-find piece, ideal for collectors of Charles Noke designs or early 20th century Royal Doulton ceramics.
