An absolutely essential buy if you want to understand physical theatre of the period (not just the theatres covered by the book). The level of detail and closely argued conjecture he provides is unmatched by anyone and I doubt his analyses will ever be bettered. 

This book has been well used (by me) but is in excellent condition with just some minor shelf wear.
