Large Antique Wedgwood Blue & White Chinese Fu Dog Charger 42cm Aesthetic c1880

Description
A rare and impressive large Wedgwood blue and white charger, richly decorated in a striking Chinese Fu Dog design. This superb 19th-century piece exemplifies the Aesthetic Movement’s fascination with Eastern motifs, combining traditional Chinese symbolism with refined English ceramic craftsmanship.

The charger is beautifully detailed with mythical Fu Dogs, Greek key borders, lotus flowers, and Chinese blossoms, all crisply rendered in deep cobalt blue on a white ground. Its generous scale makes it a true statement piece, equally suited to wall display or as a centrepiece in a collection of antique blue and white ceramics.

The reverse bears the impressed Wedgwood mark, confirming authenticity and period production.
