Hobby Master HA1329 1/72 A-10C Thunderbolt II 80-0275 2019 A-10 Demo Team

General Background
The A-10C is an updated version of the 30-year old A-10A. The cockpit has two-F-16 style 5.5 inch color displays, a moving map display and other electronic upgrades while keeping the A-10 ability to function as a CAS aircraft/tank killer. They have taken the best of the "new" and matched it with the best of the "old" and come up with one mean machine. The A-10C has already seen combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. The A-10 motto, "Go Ugly Early".

The Aircraft
A-10C 80-0275 was taken on charge in 1981 as an A-10A, converted to an OA-10A in 1987 and an A-10C in 2008. 80-0275 was assigned to the US Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team in May 2019 and spent August and September being repainted at Davis- Monthan AFB. The new paint scheme resembles a WWII-era P-51 Mustang and will be piloted by Major Cody “ShIV” Wilton, the Demo Team Commander. The team has received an FAA CAT II designation allowing the A-10C to fly within 1,000 feet from the crowd..
