The original typed caption sheet verso displays general toning, creasing, adhesive marking and a larger historic adhesive stain towards the upper portion. The Shields Gazette Library stamp, archive date and manuscript editorial annotation remain visible. These contemporary working marks are integral to the photograph’s newspaper provenance.
