For sale is a beautiful coordinating pair of vintage mid-century original oil paintings by the artist Hussein, dating to the 1960s. These highly textured artworks depict atmospheric East Asian river landscapes, beautifully capturing traditional stilt-house fishing villages, misty mountain peaks, and native sampan boats floating along quiet waterways.

Each piece is hand-painted using a vibrant mid-century impressionist technique, characterized by thick, dramatic impasto brushstrokes and palette knife work layered over a neutral tan card stock background. The deliberate use of bright white and yellow-green accents gives the scenes wonderful depth, light, and movement. Both paintings are clearly signed "Hussein" in their bottom right corners with the artist's signature cross monogram.

Both paintings come beautifully presented in matching landscape-oriented vintage wooden frames that measure approximately 37 cm in width by 29 cm in height. Each painting sits neatly behind a protective card mount that adds a clean, gallery-style border and perfectly complements the warm tones of the artwork. The reverse sides are neatly finished with secure hardboard backings, professional framer's tape, and pre-strung hanging cords, making them ready to display right out of the box.

The paintings themselves are in very good vintage condition, displaying bright, thick paint layers, with only minor age-related wear which is completely typical for paper art of this era. This pairing makes a striking and cohesive mid-century display for any wall gallery, mid-century modern interior, or collection of vintage Asian art.
