A rare and highly decorative Wade “Anton” cellulose figurine, produced in Staffordshire during the Art Deco period. The figure is cellulose painted and depicts Anton wearing a hooded cape decorated with a striking period diamond cross pattern, a design that strongly reflects 1930s Deco styling.

Condition Report:
Overall good, displayable condition, especially considering the fragility of cellulose-painted Wade figures. As expected with this type of material, there is some paint loss.
Minor paint loss to the reverse
A small area to the top left of the nose shows a later blended yellow touch-up, well matched and difficult to detect
Minor, old chips to the cape collar, again blended in yellow to match
The tip of one shoe shows a small chip or possible firing flaw, which appears to have been touched in
