Parts should be cut out and glued together back to back for rigidity and/or glued to a chipboard, cardboard backer. This does not include any plastic parts.

The original 1978 Palitoy Death Star Play Centre was a sprawling, semi-spherical playset built mostly of sturdy, illustrated cardboard. It featured movie-accurate backdrops of the space station's interior, a rotating gunnery station, a working trash compactor, and a docking bay. Key Features and construction, unlike its American counterpart—the tall, multi-story plastic Kenner Death Star—the Palitoy version sprawls horizontally in a wide, immersive semi-circular layout. The playset consisted of thick, puzzle-like cardboard panels that are held together by plastic clips.
