A beautiful vintage brass wall-mounted mechanical doorbell featuring an ornate decorative bracket topped with a winged angel figure and complete with its original pull chain.

This highly decorative doorbell is fitted with a large embossed brass bell featuring Latin lettering and relief decoration including birds, foliage and animals. The ornate wall bracket incorporates a winged angel, decorative scrollwork and a bird-shaped counterweight, making it an impressive statement piece for a period home, cottage, pub or architectural salvage collection.

The pull chain operates the mechanism, producing a clear ringing sound from the bell.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-related wear, surface marks, scratches and a naturally aged patina throughout. The mechanism operates smoothly and the bell rings well. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description. Please note the screw that holds the bell onto the frame is very worn. It holds the bell on but its not very secure.
